Gunsmoke is an A radio Western drama series created by director Norman MacDonnell and writer John Meston. The stories take place in and around Dodge City, Kansas, during the settlement of the American West. It starred William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon; Howard McNear as Doc Charles Adams; Georgia Ellis as Kitty Russell; and Parley Baer as Dillon’s assistant Chester Proudfoot. Saginaw, Michigan” is a 1964 song by Lefty Frizzell. The single was Lefty Frizzell’s sixth and final number one on the U.S. country chart. “Saginaw, Michigan” spent a total of twenty-three weeks on the country chart and peaked at number eighty-five on the Billboard Hot 100. The song earned Lefty Frizzell a Grammy nomination. 
This rodeo ballad was written by Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser. It has become one of Country music’s most recognizable anthems and propelled George Strait to stardom. Despite being Strait’s most famous tune, it is not one of his record #1 singles. It peaked at #4 on the Country charts and was named the 12th best Country song of all-time by CMT. 
The Cisco Kid came to radio October 2, 1942, with Jackson Beck in the title role and Louis Sorin as Pancho. With Vicki Vola and Bryna Raeburn in supporting roles and Michael Rye announcing, this series continued on Mutual until 1945. It was followed by another Mutual series in 1946, starring Jack Mather and Harry Lang, who continued to head the cast in the syndicated radio series of more than 600 episodes from 1947 to 1956. The radio episodes ended with one or the other of them making a corny joke about the adventure they had just completed. They would laugh, saying, “‘oh, Pancho!” “‘oh, Cisco!”, before galloping off, while laughing. 
“I Walk the Line” is a song written by Johnny Cash and recorded in 1956. A 1970 movie drama of the same name, starring Gregory Peck, featured a soundtrack of Johnny Cash songs including the title song. In 2005, a biographical film entitled Walk the Line was produced starring Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter, directed by James Mangold. 
Yakety Sax is a piece of music written by James Q. “Spider” Rich, and released as a 45 rpm single by Boots Randolph in 1963. The composition includes pieces of assorted fiddle tunes such as “Chicken Reel”, and was written for a performance at a venue called The Armory in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. There are also two bars of “Entrance of the Gladiators” worked into it. Guitarist Chet Atkins recorded a variant version of “Yakety Sax” in 1965 called “Yakety Axe”. Atkins’ version used a similar tempo and showcased his country guitar picking style in place of a saxophone. The title change referred to the colloquial term for an electric guitar as an “axe”. In 1990 he collaborated with Mark Knopfler on the album Neck and Neck where he recorded a slower-tempo version, with verses that he recited rhythmically to the music.
